Inspiration
Spiritual Building-Stone No. 135
"For the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." (II Corinthians 3:6).
Listen what God's
Prophet said about it:
I'm willing to put my soul on any phase of that Word (the Bible), to say that
It's the truth. I believe that's the inspired Word of God. And I believe that
every Word of It is inspired (II Peter 1:20-21). And I'm willing to trust
my life anytime on God's Word and His promises, for It is true.
And when the
Word of God is put into the fertile grounds of the inspired believer (Mat.
13:23), it produces just exactly what God said it would do, because it can't
fail. It's God's eternal Word. Got to waken the people, got to bring us to
something when the Word is received (Acts 2:41). And that's the inspiration.
And man is in no condition, outside of repentance; he's no condition to receive
the Word until first he has been inspired.
Look at Peter; down there he said... They said, "Who does men say I,
the Son of man, am?" (Mat. 16:13-18).
"And some said You're John the Baptist. Others said Thou art Elias. And
some said You're the prophet Jeremiah. And others, they say You're the prophet
was to come."
But Jesus answered, said, "Who do you say that I am?"
See, salvation is not based upon what someone else thinks. It's what you think
of Him. Divine healing isn't based on what the critic says, or what the church
says; it's based on your perfect faith in the inspired Word of God, and how
you're inspired to believe that. That's what brings the results, is your inspiration
by the Word. What does It do for you?
Now, this dear old black-backed Bible, I believe It with all my heart. If It isn't true, then It's wrong. I wouldn't have nothing to do with It. But I believe that every word of It is inspired, and every Word of It is God's own Word. And I believe that the right mental attitude towards any of those Divine promises will bring them to pass.
And the whole
Word of God is every bit tied right together. Sixty-six Books, wrote by numbers
of men, hundreds of years apart, and not one contradicts the other one, not
a one, every one of them perfect. Never was a piece of literature wrote like
It in all the world.
They've been for two thousand years, trying to alter the Lord's Prayer, to
put one word to It or take one away from It to make It better. You just can't
do it. Oh, It's perfect. It's the Word of God.
And I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God (II Tim. 3:16-17). Every
Word of It is inspired. I don't believe just this is not inspired, and this
is, and that is. I believe It's all inspired. It's either all right or all
wrong; and if It's all mixed up, then we don't know what to do. But It's,
every bit, the Truth. I'm willing to sacrifice my life at any moment for what
THUS SAITH THE LORD is here.
Now, It's either
all inspired or none of It's inspired. I believe every word of It is inspired,
written by God, if we can only rightly put it in Its place, where It belongs.
And if we put it in Its place, God will perform and operate and prove His
Word.
Now, you couldn't put a grain of corn in a box of sawdust or ashes, and it
would grow. It won't do it. It's got to be in the right kind of soil to make
it grow. Is that right?
Now, when a man
is inspired and he reads the inspired Word, the two inspirations together
gives a result. No matter how well you study the Word, It'll never do you
no good till you're inspired yourself. It takes your inspiration with... The
Word's already inspired.
So what we need today is an inspiration over us, God sweeping down with a
new inspiration and breathing over us His power, and His love, and Himself,
that it might inspire us to quicken us and waken us to His Word. And then
the Word being brought into that spirit of inspiration, then you'll see miracles
happen, and things take place, because the two just comes together.
If our nature becomes converted from the things of the world to the nature
of the Holy Spirit, God will take His stand, and He will abide on us. Inspired
believers taking in the inspired Word, those two together bring the results.
It brings the Word to life. The inspiration that's in your heart puts the
Word to living, because...
You could take a grain of corn and lay it on a desk. No matter how well it's
polished, and it might be fourteen carats, it'll never produce any more corn.
No matter how pretty the desk is, how genuine the gold is it's laying on,
or how real germitized the corn is, the corn's got to fall in rich fertile
dirt to bring forth results. Amen. Oh, I love it.
I was talking
to a person not long ago. He was trying to discuss with me and saying, "Aren't
you ashamed to say that God created the heavens and earth in three days--or
in six days?"
I said, "That's what the Bible said." Said, "Well, we've got
evidence and can prove that the world is millions of years old."
I said, "That didn't have anything to do with it. In Genesis 1:1, it
said, 'In the beginning God created heavens and earth' period. See? That's
all. Now, the world without form and void." And I said, "I believe
every seed was laying right there from some other civilization or something,
and as soon as the water lifted off and the light struck it, up come the trees
and everything."
The same thing with the human being; it's a type. When all the mist is moved
away, and the revealed Truth to that real seed laying there still germitized,
and the Light of the Gospel can strike it by true a-vindication of the Word,
it'll live; it's got Life in it... Outside of that it can't live. It hasn't
got no Life in it.
Them names were put on the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the
world, will come forth just as certain as anything. That's why Jesus sets
right there and waits with His mediatorial work until that last seed. He will
know exactly when to strikes.
Now, we lose
our glory, if we lose faith. Now, if we get away from faith, then we take
the church into an intellectual realm. And many times, it's been thought amongst
people, that because a congregation was large, and they had great churches,
great steeples, and a great lot of well-dressed and groomed peoples, and a
lot of finances, that they could afford such things, we many times, thought
that was inspiring--that this certain church must be inspired. Or we've often
referred to different ministers, who get out on the field and have great gatherings
of crowds, and we think, sometimes, that they are the signs of inspiration.
But that's not altogether the truth. That's human inspiration.
But the real inspiration comes by doing the will of God, whether it is a one
or just a handful. Whether it is a big church or a small church, it matters
not. Whether he is a great eloquent speaker or just a man that hardly knows
his ABC's, it doesn't matter. It depends on the message that he brings, whether
it is inspired by the Word of God or is it inspired by intellectuals conceptions
of human inspiration.
Some people can be inspired because of an eloquent speaker. That doesn't make
it right. Sometimes they're inspired, because the man is so trained, till
he could put his point over. That doesn't mean that it's of God. See? It's
only through God's everlasting, eternal, blessed Word can we receive inspiration,
and that's given by the Holy Ghost. By faith we receive it.
Now, we see this great man. And, remember, Job had no Bible to read in his
day. No. He only went by inspiration. He was a prophet to whom the Word of
the Lord comes to. He had only to be inspired, because he knowed his position
that he was God's prophet. Now, the only thing had to happen, was for the
inspiration to strike him. And then he knowed what he said would happen, because
it was by inspiration.
That's what the church, if it's in order (set in order), it only... It's got
the mechanics ready; it only needs then the dynamics. Tonight if we'll get
the mechanics ready, get our hearts right, the things that we can do, follow
every Word, follow Him in baptism, follow Him in every order that He told
us to do, get every mechanic ready, and stand there; then we're ready for
the dynamics to be let off, and only God can do that; and that's to drop into
your heart that faith that says, "I am now healed." Then don't make
any difference what circumstances is, you're healed anyhow; 'cause it's faith,
by faith you're healed.
Now, when it's revealed to you, that you yourself has received God's promise...
The inspiration, you being Christians, it struck you, you don't even need
a prayer line. The only thing you need is a open heart when all the mechanics
are ready, and let the inspiration drop in, and then nothing can change your
mind; you've got it. Outside of that, it won't do no good.
Now, notice, Job needed a channel of inspiration; he had it open. He had a
channel to communicate with God by His inspiration. He had a way of moving
himself out and let the Word of God move in (Job 38:1-7). Notice how they
come to consult him from the east and from the west, people looking for him
because they know that what Job said was the truth. They knowed that man told
the truth. Because what he prophesied, that's what happened. And so people
come from the east and west.
Now, sometimes these great pulsations of faith come right in the time of crisis.
It's usually crisis that drives us into this. It was a crisis that drove Job
into it. Why, he was at the end of his life. His children was dead; his camels,
and all of his goods was gone and destroyed (Job 1). And his own life, he
was broke out from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet with boils.
It was a crisis that he pressed hisself, there's where the inspiration struck
him.
O men and women, tonight, if you could look around and see how close we are
to the coming of the Lord. You who've put off the baptism of the Holy Ghost,
you maybe relied upon some sensation, or something that you done that Satan
can impersonate, and can't have the real Spirit in you to go all the way in
God's promises. How can a man that claims to have the Holy Ghost deny one
Word of this Bible, being not right? You can't do it.
No matter how religious you are, how many churches you belong to, how many
books your name's on, if that genuine Holy Ghost is in you, which is this
Word manifested, you'll see the Message and the hour, because it's the Holy
Ghost that does it. But there has to be something light that off, inspiration
strike you. If you pour water on the ground, on the ground, on the ground,
and there's no seed in there to strike it, how can it ever bring forth anything?
There's nothing there to bring forth. That is, that only the Elected of God
will see it (I Thess. 1:4-6; Eph. 1:3-4).
The Elected of God seen It in Noah's time, Moses' time, Jesus' time, the apostles'
time, Luther's time, Wesley's time, Pentecostal time, because that was the
Seed that was on the earth when this inspiration was poured out. Now, while
the inspiration's poured out to gather the Bride together, it's only those
who are Elected will see It. Jesus said, "I thank Thee, Father, that
Thou hast hid these things from the eyes of the wise and prudent, and revealed
It to babes such as would learn." (Mat. 11:25-27). Now, inspiration has
to strike it.
Now, when the inspiration struck him, that did it. He had It then. Now, we
find out, there comes a time of these crisis when the press is right on. And
you look around today, look at the condition we're living in. Aren't we living
in a modern Sodom and Gomorrah?
And we are not living in Luther's age, Wesley age, or the Pentecostal age.
The Pentecostal age was only a restoration of the gifts coming back to the
church, but we're living in the evening time; we're living in a time of the
calling out of the Bride.
The inspiration, that's the way it strikes you if you're sick. That's the
way it strikes you if you're afflicted. Something's revealed to you, and you
see that it's been revealed, you speak up, "I'm healed."
Then God tells you what to do, "Rise up and start walking." Amen.
Then it's all over, when you can do it that way. That's the way God does it,
then you see God manifested through yourself.
Same thing in Mark 11:23, "If you say to this mountain, 'Be moved,' and
don't doubt in your heart, but believe that what you said will come to pass,
you can have what you said." But you can't stand there fumble in your
mind and say it; you've got to be inspired to say it. Amen.
Now, when you
receive the inspiration that Jesus Christ died for your sickness, it's that
very hour that you're healing has come. That's right. When you receive from
heaven, that Jesus died for your sins and you have accepted it, you don't
need any prayer for you then. You've already accepted it. It's settled.
Now, we can preach the Word, explain the Word. But you have to receive the
Word. Oh, hallelujah. That's what sets it afire, brother. When you receive
it, the revelation, something slips out of the unseen world yonder, comes
rolling down through a mystical channel somewhere into your soul, that says,
"Now I see it." Your eyes brighten; your lips that hung down, straighten
up and smile. Every muscle in your body seems to rejoice. Something's going
to happen. Something... You don't need to be in a prayer line then. You've
got it then.
But yet, one thing about the Word of God, It never grows old, because It's God. It never grows old. Through every generation now for pretty near, about twenty-eight hundred years or better, this Word of God has been read by men, priests, and so forth, and never does It grow old. I've been reading It myself for some thirty-five years. And each time I read It, I find something new that I looked over the first time. Because It is inspired. It is God in letter form. See, It's the attributes of God speaking forth and is placed on paper.
See, you must
realize then, friend, what condition you're in. That's the reason this tape;
I said, "to church only (See?), to church only." If you've been
called from darkness unto Life, from death unto Life, from a formal intellection
conception of Christ to a borned again experience; and watching your life,
that it lays the things of the world aside, and you stand for Christ, regardless;
then something's happened. See? There's something in you, hungering and moving,
like it was Jacob. See, you wrestle with the Lord; you walk different after
that. Something's different in you, you've changed. Now, it has...
'Fore it can be done, it has to be inspired to you. I don't care; I could
stand here and preach till I got--what hair I got left fell out, till my shoulders
stooped down and I was ninety years old, and you listened every day; until
God quickens that to you, you're still in the same shape.
Two days I've been studying and praying on this. See? I said, "Lord,
should I say that to the church?"
Something said, "Say it. The hour's at hand. Say it." I feel that
He pulling me away pretty soon, so I want you to know it.

There's coming one with a Message that's straight on the Bible, and quick
work will circle the earth. The seeds will go in newspapers, reading material,
until every predestinated Seed of God has heard It.
