To Bring Forth Fruit Unto God
Spiritual Building-Stone No. 147

Romans 7:1-6,
"Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter."

Let us listen what God’s Prophet said about it:

Always, don't judge your life by how much power you have to perform miracles, and we don't judge ourself by how much knowledge you have of the Word, but always judge yourself... Look back and take an inventory of what kind of a fruit that the life you presently live now is bearing. See? As I preached sometime ago of the reflection of Jesus--reflecting Christian Life. [1]

Pray God to let the Light of this day raise in you to be an obedient servant to God, and then let the fruit of the Spirit ever remain in your life. And that is a life is worthy of the Gospel.

The only way that you can live a life that's worthy of the Gospel is let the Gospel itself, every bit of the Gospel, come into you and reflect His promises back, make them vindicated. Let God live in you to vindicate the promises of this day. Just as Jesus said to John, "Suffer it to be so, John, that's right, but we are the Messengers of this day, and We've got to fulfill all righteousness." (Matt. 3:13-17). And if we are the Christians of this day, let's receive Jesus Christ into our heart. And He is the Word. Don't deny any of It, say, "It's the Truth." And place It in your heart, and watch the fruit of the Spirit upon you, and fulfill every promise that He made in the Bible. God wants to fulfill His Word, and He don't have any hands but mine and yours. He don't have any eyes but mine and yours. He has no tongue but mine and yours. "I am the Vine; ye are the branches" (John 15:1-7). The branches bears the fruit. The Vine energizes the branch. That's a life that's worthy. [2]

The fruit of the Spirit today is love, joy, faith, long-suffering, meekness, gentleness, patience, all supernatural... [3] (Gal. 5:22-23).
„Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful...” (Psalm 1).

Brings forth of His fruits in his season (Genesis 1:11), brings forth His fruits. What fruits? The fruits of what? His fruits. What fruits? His own fruits. What fruit is it? The Bible. See? All of it's here, the fruit: love--it's here in the Bible; joy--here in the Bible; power; Holy Ghost; all these things here; Divine healing; promises of God. That's the fruits. Here It is, and if he's planted in This, This is planted in the right kind of soil, in faith, what does faith do? Faith begins to grow It. Amen! Begins to moves her up. See? That's it: moves it up. Sure! He shall be like a tree that's planted by the waters, brings forth His fruit in the season.
Now, what kind of a fruit will it bring forth? John 14:12. Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;..." Why? The same Word's in him. He was the Word. Is that right? "And if ye abide in Me and My Word's in you, ask what ye will." (St.John 15:7).

Rivers. What is that? The nine spiritual gifts (I Cor. 12:4-11), rivers of one water, one Spirit--one water, but coming from nine different resources. Rivers of water, see, rivers of water. „...that bringeth forth his fruit... (fruit of the Spirit)... in his season; his leaves also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does it shall prosper” (Psalm 1:3). [4]

The true vine and the false vine both had the same anointing. The water fell on both of them (Matt. 5:43-45). No wonder He warned us it would deceive the very elected if it was possible (Matt. 24:24).

Notice. They looked the same; they're anointed the same. But notice, "By their fruit..." (Matt. 7:15-20). How do you know that isn't an orange? Because it's bearing a grapefruit. That vine's all right; it's living in the tree; but it's bearing a grapefruit. It isn't like the first one. And if a church says they believe Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever, and deny His power, deny His works, deny His Word... The church that believes in Jesus Christ will do the works of Jesus Christ; it'll have the Life of Jesus Christ. And if it isn't... No matter if the life is pouring into it, if it isn't predestinated from the roots, it'll bear grapefruit every time or something different. But if it's the predestinated Life in the Roots, it'll bear Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever, if it's the Word coming up through the Root, which He is the Root, the beginning of time.

Notice. But it's what they produce that tells you the difference. "By their fruit," Jesus said, "you shall know them." Man does not gather grapes off of a thistle even though the thistle be right in the grapevine. That could be possible, but the fruit will tell it. What is the fruit? The Word for the--fruit for the season; that's what it is, their teaching. The teaching of what? The teaching of the seasons, what time it is--man's doctrine, denominational doctrine, or God's Word for the season.

Balaam, anointed with the same Spirit that was upon Moses... What was the difference? The teaching of Moses was perfect. The Bible said here in II Peter that it was the teaching of Balaam that Israel received that God never did forgive: unpardonable sin (Numbers 25:1-5). Not a one of them got saved. Though they had come out under the blessings of God and seen the hand of God moving by this mighty prophet and seen it exactly vindicated by God, and because another prophet come in with a teaching contrary, and disputed with Moses, and tried to prove to the people that Moses was wrong... (Numbers 16:1-35). And Dathan, Korah, and many of them agreed with him and taught the children of Israel to commit fornications, to go after his organization that we're all the same, "Whether we're Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, or Pentecostals, and whatmore, we're all the same." We're not the same. Ye are a separated people, holy unto the Lord, dedicated to the Word and the Spirit of God to bear fruit of His promise of this day. And you're not of them.

Now, the teaching of Balaam... Not the prophecy of Balaam, that was all right; that was God. How many believes that? The prophecy of Balaam was exactly right, 'cause He couldn't speak nothing else. The anointing of God wouldn't speak nothing else. And God vindicated it by proving it was the truth. But it was the teaching of Balaam. Now, compare that with Matthew 24:24. Anointed ones, but their teaching is false, the trinities and all things like that. Wrong, antichrist. [5]

It was when Jesus came. The day that Jesus came, them men knowed that Word of God just by letter. Didn't they? Sure. But they were ignorant of Who He was, when they seen God on the wings of a dove (St.John 1:29-34), perform and do just exactly what He had said He would do. And when He done just what the Word said. "If I do not the works of My Father, then don't believe Me." But He did just as the Word said He would do. And they were scientific men in them days, but scientifically ignorant to willfully sin.
Lust had blinded. They need God's Word to show her nakedness. In Revelations 3 it said, "I counsel of thee to buy from Me salve, that your eyes might be opened, that you might see your nakedness" (Rev. 3:18).
The Salve is God's Word, the healing of the eyes that brings you from natural things of the world, and transforms you by the power of God into His Presence. Then you see. You say, "I once was lost, now I'm found. I was blind, but now I see." See? It would be different. That's what the church's call is today, is, "I counsel thee to come buy of Me salve for your eyes, that you might be anointed with My salve, and then you'll see."
Let the Holy Spirit come upon any person that's truly got something down there to... A healing comes from the inside. Let that healing come from the Spirit that's in you. If it's a genuine Spirit anointing the genuine Seed, It can't do nothing but bear a son or daughter of God. But the genuine Spirit can come upon a cocklebur seed; the rain can fall upon a cocklebur, and it'll make it live just the same as it falls upon a wheat and makes it live. "But by their fruits you know them." See? We're a fruit tree of God, bearing His Word. [6]

Look at the Pentecostals years ago how they harped on that. "And we, the church--we, the church." The Church is Christ's body. It's a individual amongst other individuals that is born in the Kingdom of God. That comes from the inside out. It's automatically lived.
You don't ask the sheep to bear wool or manufacture wool, I mean. The sheep don't have to manufacture wool. He'd say, "Now, my master wants me to have some wool this year. I got to get busy." No, the only thing he has to do is just remain a sheep. That's right. The wool will automatically bear it...

And we're not asked to manufacture fruits; we're supposed to produce fruit, bear fruits. See? We are supposed to bear fruits. And as long as you are a fruit tree of God with God's Word, God's Word will vindicate Itself. It'll bear fruit as long as the Word's in there.

And Jesus said, "If ye abide in Me and My Word in you, ask what you will, and it shall be done" (St.John 15:7). See it? You don't manufacture it. You work yourself not up to it; it's just actually there. And it goes on and on.
Now, now, others go so far as to be fanatics. Now, they go on the other side. And they think just because that they jump up and down, or get some kind of a sensation or emotion, speak with tongues, or give a prophecy that happened to be right or something like that, they think that's it: they've got it, but it isn't.

Jesus said, "Many will come to Me in that day and say, 'Lord, have not I prophesied in Your Name; Your Name done many works and cast out devils?'" He say, "Depart, I never knew you" (Matt. 7:21-23). See? That isn't it. That isn't it, friends. That's the reason that tongues evidence... I believe in speaking in tongues, but I don't take it to be the only evidence of the Holy Spirit. No, sir. The fruit of the Spirit is the evidence.

You see, that's the reason I have different with the move of the Pentecostal brethren in that manner that they say, "If a man speaks in tongues, he has the Holy Ghost." I different. That's no sign he's got the Holy Ghost. See? I've heard devils speak with tongues just as fast as they could, drink blood out of a human skull, and call on the devil.

I've seen Indians take snakes and wrap around them in the rain dance out there in Arizona, hold their hands up like that, and run right around; the witch doctor come out lancing himself, and lay a pencil down, and it write in unknown tongues and give the interpretation. So, see? So don't tell me that. No, I'm too old for that.

The fruit of the Spirit is the <evidence>... Jesus said, "By their fruits (not tongues or emotions, but) by their fruits ye shall know them." So that is the fruit of the Spirit.

It's God unfolding Himself in humility, sweetness, and everyday the same. It's something about a man that stays right with the Word, every time that he sees the Word, he punctuates it with an "Amen," no matter what the other people say... He believes it. You see? [7]

Unless a man is borned again (John 3:1-8). When he is borned again, the life of God dwells in him. And then the fruits of the Spirit follows, which is, love, peace, joy, longsuffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness, patience. He becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus (II Cor. 5:17). He's a part of God, a son of God. He can no more die than God can die. He's got Eternal, Immortal Life and cannot die. Jesus said, "He that heareth My Words and believeth on Him that sent Me hath (present tense) Eternal Life, and shall never come to the judgment, but's passed from death unto Life" (John 5:24). [8]

When you're borned again, God vindicates you. That's how God vindicates all of His nature. What? By their fruits. That's the way He vindicates His ministry. That's right. All of His servants are vindicated the same way He vindicates nature. How do you know it's a peach tree? 'Cause it bring peaches. How do you know it's an apple tree? Bearing apples. How do you know it's a Christian? Christian signs bear from it; Christian life comes out of it. How do you know he's a teacher? The Word comes from him. How do you know he's a prophet? The Word comes through him, bears record, vindication. It proves itself. How does it become that? When it dies and becomes one. That's right. When we die and become a new creature in Christ Jesus, it gets us with our calling; we stay with our calling. The fruits of the Spirit follow us when we are His servants. When we are borned again, the fruits of Christ's Life follows us. That's right. How do you know it's a peach tree? It's got peaches. How do you know he's a Christian? He acts like Christ; he walks like Christ; he talks like Christ; he lives like Christ, above sin, victorious. What does he do, say, "See what I done"? Christ didn't do that. He gave all praise to the Father. That's right. That's how you know it. By their fruits you shall know them. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again he cannot even understand the Kingdom of God" (St.John 3:3). [9]

There's not one thing left in the Bible as evidence of the Holy Ghost, only the fruits of the Spirit. Find out any place that Jesus said so. Yes, sir. The evidence of the Holy Ghost is the fruit of your Spirit. Jesus said so, "By their fruit you shall know them." And the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness, peace, gentleness, meekness. And the fruit of the enemy is enmity, hatred, malice, strife, and so forth; that's the fruit of the enemy. So you can judge by the way you're living, where you're standing with God. If your whole heart is in love with Him, and you love Him, and are gentle, and live with Him daily, you know you've passed from death unto Life. If it isn't, and you're otherwise, you're just impersonating a Christian. That's right. Which, all carnal impersonations will certainly be exposed; we know that.

So don't live that kind of a life; you don't have to. Why would you accept a substitute, when the whole skies above are full of the good and the real? Certainly. Let me take God; that's what I want. Amen. [10]
And now, notice. Like the first time, when He started that first church that the Roman caterpillar eat off (and cankerworm, so forth), He started out with justification by faith. In Saint John the 17th chapter, 17th verse, Jesus said, "Sanctify them, Father, through the Truth; Thy Word is Truth."
Second work was sanctification (to the church). After justification was sanctification. And after they were sanctified, He asked them to tarry in the city of Jerusalem (Luke 24:49) until they were endued with power from on high; and there He gave birth to the Tree, the Holy Ghost, Pentecost. Justification, Sanctification, baptism of the Holy Ghost, and then Christ come to dwell in It to bring forth the fruits. Amen. Is that right? (Romans 6:20-22). [11]

The Pharisees, Sadducees, great men, holy men, good men, fine men, humble men, men that had fruit of the Spirit more so than what Jesus exercised.

But what was His credentials? That the Word was with Him, the Word promised of that day was living through Him. He said, "Which one of you can condemn Me of sin? Which one of you can say that what I have claimed hasn't happened?" For He showed that He was a separated Nazarite of the Lord. He was the Lord Himself in flesh. [12]

Did you ever see your priest look like that? Now, where's the fruit of the Spirit?" See? Not by speaking in tongues, not by dancing in the Spirit, not by joining the church, not by fruit of the Spirit (Christian Science can out smother any of you on that, see, and deny even Jesus Christ was Divine.); not that, but it's the Word living. There it is. If they would've looked, He was Messiah. He was the living Word made manifest. And a man that's got the Spirit of God in him, or woman, that Word lives right out in them. That's the heart beat, the predestinated. For the Word of the Lord comes to them, and they are the Word to the people: written Epistles read of all men (II Cor. 3:1-3). Is that right? Could the Third Pull be on? [13]

What is the fruit of the Spirit? The manifestation of the promised Word. If they'd just have stopped to look, He did not have these things that they had, fruit of the Spirit, or anything. But the Word that was promised that day was manifesting Itself, that was exactly the Light of the hour. That was It.

No matter how much education, and how kind, how much you speak with tongues, how much kind, gentle, and everything you are; unless you accept that Word of the hour when It's manifested before you, you're in the same predicament. [14]

I pray, Father, now, that you'll keep them by Your grace until that great day, which may be tomorrow, that they'll have to stand in the presence of God. No matter what they'd ever done: they could be so true; they could be so loyal; they could dress so descent, act so nice, and join every church, and be lost. Nothing in our hands we bring. There's nothing we could do would merit anything. We just trust in Your grace. And when we do that, then our life is changed and bears fruits of Christ. [15]

There´s coming one with a Message that´s straight on the Bible, and quick work will circle the earth. The seeds will go in newspapers, reading material, until every predestinated Seed of God has heard It. [ Bro. Branham in „Conduct-Order-Doctrine“, page 724]
